The local court sent the man to two-day police remand on Monday for delivering a soap instead of an iphone 8 to Sector-19 resident on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar, 23, of Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh. Ankush Wadhwa, who hails from Malout, and is staying on rented accommodation in Sector 19 with his cousin, said he had ordered an iPhone 8, 64 GB Gold online through TATA Clique and had made the payment through a credit card.
He added that on October 7, a delivery boy came to his house, who had handed him the parcel which had a box of Moto G phone instead of an iPhone. When he opened it, he found soap pieces. Realised being cheated, Wadhwa gave him a chase and took the delivery boy to police.
The accused, Sunil ,told the police that he had opened the parcel and exchanged it. Also, he had put pieces of soap in the box which he delivered to Wadhwa. A case under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at the Sector-19 police station, Chandigarh.
