LTTE Denies Assassinating former Indian PM Rajiv Gandhi in an Alleged statement

Colombo: Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) allegedly issued a statement saying the militant organisation did not assassinate Rajiv Gandhi . In the statement dated 1-12-2018, LTTE had allegedly claimed that they didn't have anything to do with former PM Rajiv Gandhi's assassination and had no intentions of conspiring or attacking India.

The LTTE is represented by Lathan Suntharalingam and Kuruparan Kurusamy.Both Suntharalingam and Kurusamy have been very active members of the Tamil diaspora community, supporting the now militarily-defeated LTTE. 

 Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by LTTE suicide bomber during an election rally in Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur in May 1991. Rajiv Gandhi’s killers T Suthendraraja, V. Sriharan, Robert Payas, AG Perarivalan, Jayakumar, Nalini and P Ravichandaran have been in languishing  jail for 27 years.
