Medical transportation startup StanPlus has raised $1.1 million seed funding from Kstart (Kalaari Capital’s Seed Fund) and CM Diamant, a chain of medical centres and hospital in Canada and Africa, and INSEAD Angels Asia.
Founded in 2016, StanPlus is an advanced ambulance service that operates in the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana with its headquarters in Hyderabad.
Speaking on the utilization of the funding, Mr. Prabhdeep Singh, Co-Founder and CEO says “The amount invested will be used to increase our Advance-Life Support fleet and expand across geographies, innovate with cutting-edge technologies and to cover all medical transportation categories in near future.”
Speaking of the numbers, StanPlus has 300+ ambulances in its fleet joined by over 60 ambulance operators. They are currently servicing 15 hospitals with a capacity of 2000 beds. The model they follow is that the hospitals must focus on providing treatment to their patients and leave the logistics of bringing in the patients and dropping them back to StanPlus.
“StanPlus’s approach to medical transportation is enterprising. We are confident in their ability to achieve scale and successfully address the problem of lack of reliable medical transportation services across the all areas of healthcare,” says Muthiah Venkateswaran, Partner at Kstart.
StanPlus claims that they have virtually revolutionized the ambulance service in the country by introducing path-breaking technologies, processes and systems, including the use of trained manpower in all areas of their business. Advanced Life Support systems, ALS systems, BLS care systems and Cardiac machines are all listed as facilities available onboard their ambulances and these are ably handled by para-medical staff capable of offering professional care during the golden hour before the patients are handed over to the medical teams at the hospitals.
They are committed to making available an ambulance within 15 minutes of the booking through a common telephone number across all stations.
