The highest number of qualifying candidates , 3.75 lakh, came from the Other Backward Classes category, while 2.8 lakh students qualified from the unreserved category. Almost one lakh students qualified from the Scheduled Castes category and more than 35,000 from the Scheduled Tribes.
The NEET was conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to colleges approved by the Medical Council of India and the Dental Council of India.
