Ram Mandir construction to begin in Ayodhya by 2018: Swamy

Bharatiya Janata Party Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Sunday claimed that the Ram temple will be constructed at Ayodhya by next year.

Speaking at Narad Samman Samaroh organized by the Vishwa Samwad Kendra – an affiliate of BJP’s ideological mentor RSS, Swami hoped that ongoing hearing in the Ram temple–Babri Masjid case in the Supreme Court should be over by November this year paving way for the constructing of Ram temple.

“I hope by next year Ram Mandir will be constructed at Ayodhya” he said in the presence of Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

In March this year, Swamy had said that the temple would be constructed by 2024.

The fiery BJP leader while addressing small gathering of RSS cadre and journalists raised the issue of uniform civil code which the Central government wants implement in the country.

Swam asked that when Muslims can follow the uniform code in countries like United States of America and Australia, why can’t they follow the same in India.

The BJP leader also touched upon the triple talaq issue and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was determined to see that Muslim women get ‘justice’.

Earlier, Swamy felicitated eight journalists from different organizations including Nihi Sharma of Hindustan Times and Chandrasekhar Budakoti of Hindi Hindustan.

The RSS Vishwa Samwad Kendra every year organizes a function – Narad Jayanti – in honour of Hindu mythological figure Narad who they believe was the first ever journalist in the universe.
